For this one-night activation, we transformed First Edition, an Oakland bar and lounge, into an immersive jazz experience — blending sound, style, and storytelling under one roof. From brand direction and event programming to social rollout and visual identity, every element was designed to reintroduce live jazz to a new generation.

The result: a night that felt timeless yet contemporary. A warm, elevated space where community, culture, and creativity came together — reminding Oakland what live music can feel like.

The one-night event at First Edition celebrated the intersection of sound, culture, and community — reimagining what live jazz could feel like in Oakland today. The evening unfolded like a modern ode to the classics: intimate, soulful, and alive with energy.

Blending modern atmosphere with vintage soul, the space came to life through warm lighting, curated visuals, and immersive set design that felt both timeless and new. Every detail — from programming and partnerships to visual identity and storytelling — was crafted to make the night feel like more than an event. It was a revival of jazz’s spirit in the heart of Oakland.
